JustinHawkinsRocks.co.uk was an idea from a fan of The Darkness and Justin's work. After realising the return of Justin to the music scene was going to happen as he actively started using MySpace in 2007, a search for the latest news commenced. Finding out that all sites relating to Justin individually were not updated for many years, or were created by public access sites and contained highly inaccurate information, the space for JustinHawkinsRocks was easy to see.
After some time and careful planning, in May 2008 the site was born. Many hours were spent ensuring information was as accurate as possible (we try our best!), and all articles you see are personally sourced - they aren't automated through a series of links - they are read, and where appropriate, introduced in the news articles so you have all the info at your fingertips!
The articles sourced from the media are the same as everyone else can find, and where we try to clarify as much as the information as possible, it is not from Justin himself. Of course if a member of the band and Justin himself posts, then we will of course post that too.
Fans also send information, this is a very important thing to JustinHawkinsRocks, as its main aim is to make sure all fans that want to contribute, can.
A point to make also is that although the site is called 'JustinHawkinsRocks', we do also include information about The Darkness namely, but also members of Justin Hawkins' bands, or people he has worked with. We also are here for fans all over the world, not just the UK!
We are not connected to Justin or his management; however he is aware of the site and has visited a few times. In 2009, the album artwork for Hot Leg's 'Red Light Fever' contained a listing of the site in the thank-you notes.
