There hasn't any activity with the band lately, but as soon as we have news, it'll be up on site.... we all feel the same  Smiley

I have a theory.........

Hotleg stopped touring last summer and so did The Stone Gods, 30th august 2009 and 29th of July respectively. Very close together eh.......

As for the Hotleg members....

Sam - The bassist has nothing publicised on his myspace page.  He lives in Los Angeles and must be up to something there....  Justin was relatively recently spotted in LA on stage with Steel Panther in April.....

Darby Todd has been indisposed touring with other people as their drummer immediately since Hotleg became inactive and his schedule, according to myspace, continues till 9th July this summer......

Pete Rinaldi has been busy travelling the world under the banner of Warner Brothers promoting his new band and animation ventures..... busy busy boy.  I also know for a fact that Pete is a highly sort after live session guitarist and works a hell of a lot.  So goodness knows how long he might be indisposed for if he has made commitments and signed contracts.

Justin Hawkins........... bit of this and a bit of that.  Times in LA, recording/writting for Meat Loaf, Al Murray, Adam Lambert etc etc. with appearances in LA........

The core guy is Justin Hawkins, with the Stone Gods being just as inactive, people going their separate ways etc i have two ideas:

1.  The core members of the darkness, i.e. Justin and Dan Hawkins will be putting the darkness back together and releasing a new album and tour.  The original drummer from the darkness cannot play anymore and the bassist moved across to Europe so.... all you can have/need is the Hawkins brothers now..................?
Another idea to support this....  The name "hot leg" can mean a few things as a phrase.  i. a lower limb of the human anatomy that is rather attractive OR ii. a single rotation of a cycle, e.g. a "leg" of a race, or "lap" of a race.  The name suggests singular and the hot would mean, one year, one epic tour/album and then....... kaput?

2.  People are biding their time until after this summer, leaving their professions to do whatever for a year because of the seriously intense touring they did and the album not selling all too well.  The fact that Justin has been going to LA again, which is where he of coarse recorded the Hot leg album and where Sam lives, supports the idea that they might be recording a new album.  Maybe, just MAYBE they might be coming back to do "another leg" with Justin's current band.......  however with Dan Hawkins being so inactive i think that it is more likely that the two of them, as quiet as they have been, have been writing and recording together this whole time.............

Who knows?!

Any thoughts?

I'm not going to comment on theories, as there are many.

However Samuel used to live in LA - As far as i know, he hasn't returned there. Darby has always been a session drummer and Drums wherever he gets paid - He has often toured with Buddy Whittington, and has his other band 'Protect the beat'. Pete is yes, doing very well touring America with One EskimO.
As for Hot Leg's long term plans... I was told personally that there were real plans for the next 4 albums - however I think this has changed in the last year, obviously.

Dan Hawkins has become a father, so I would expect he'd want some bonding time. Toby, Bass player for Stone Gods, lives in Brighton. and Ed Graham has a new band - so he is capable of playing.

I'm not saying any theory of a Darkness Reunion is untrue, just a little update on some of the things you mentioned, Darkvoid  Smiley

How on earth do you get your information?!?

Hmmm i live in Brighton, no wonder i have seen Dan Hawkins knockin around a whole bunch of times.  I thought it was him who lived here! I know the Stone Gods have rehearsed at Scream rehearsal studios in Brighton too..........

I noticed that you didn't comment on what Justin has been up to other than bits and bobs..... going to LA just for a laugh doesn't sound right to me.......... so i am sure business of some sort has been done there.....

As for the tidbit on Dan Hawkins you gave.... with a family comes greater responsibility to provide.... money money money? World wide reunion tour with the Darkness anyone?!

The darkness did conquer the world, they are still remembered in households everywhere.......... with the possibility to relive a former glory and earn some money anytime they should simply want to get together...... too tempting......... it will happen at some point guaranteed.

I'm no one special, I just read the interviews they give or info on social network pages etc.

Dan lives in Brighton too last I heard/read... but I'm not a stalker either, and don't have a tracking device fitted to them  Grin

Justin has signed a deal with Kobalt publishers, so I presume that gives him work in the USA too (The news was posted on this site in March - Bottom of page 3 of the news at the moment). We aren't going to know every project he works on until it surfaces. I don't know what he's up to at the mo, but the news on here is kept up to date as much as possible.

I think a lot of people are split on a Darkness reunion. My own opinion... I will wait and see!

I think we have an answer (sort of) Justin seems to express on his twitter (and has been quoted in sooo may online articles the last few days) that the rumours aren't true...
